Operation Day’s
Work Sri Lanka (ODWSL) is a programme devoted to support youth from
all ethnic groups between the ages of 13-20 years to return to schools
and gain access to vocational education, which will lead to employment
and self-reliance. The programme strongly supports the peace and
reconciliation process in Sri Lanka. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The
Development
Fund of Norway is the formal project holder on behalf
of the
Operation Day’s
Work of Norway for the implementation of the programme.
The Development Fund works through the Programme Support Organization
(PSO) in Sri Lanka established for managing the implementation and
monitoring. ODW Sri Lanka works with identified local partners (NGOs,
Universities, Technical colleges etc) who are committed to the objectives
of ODW programme. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Programme was originally planned
for the period 2004-2008. Due to the circumstances that took place in
the project areas, changes were made in the programme. Few of the
partners were excluded and new partners are included. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
However due to the good results
and opportunities available and alterations caused by external
factors, the programme is now extended to 2011. Targets of the
Activities
to
be achieved by the end of the programme are rescheduled according to
the extended programme. |
