BUILDING
THE CAPACITY OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS |
| |
| |
All the partner
organizations except the universities of the ODW programme are civil
society organizations. These organizations play an important role
in addressing problems faced by youth. |
| |
| |
ODW programme emphasises on building the organizational capacity
of the partner organizations through out the programme period. Strengthening
local organisation is one of the first steps in building Civil Society
and is therefore an important component in the ODW program’s
activities. |
| |
| |
The long-term
goal in capacity building is to enable the grass root organisations
to develop from being institutions responding to on-going problems
to becoming pro-active institutions that can assess future challenges. |
| |
| |
For this purpose
Programme Support Organization
(PSO) strengthens partner institution by following steps. |
| |
| |
¨ |
Facilitating training
on long-term and short-term planning |
¨ |
Improving monitoring system |
¨ |
Ensuring healthy financial system |
¨ |
Helping to improve communication
and reporting skills |
¨ |
Facilitating leadership and
personnel management |
¨ |
Facilitating increased policy
advocacy skills |
| |
| |
The degree of
needs for each of these aspects will differ from organisation to
organisation. By the end of OD program period, the institutional
evaluation of all partners will be carried out to measure the achievement
of institutional strengthening. |
