CATCH UP AND RETURNING TO EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL DROPOUTS

School dropouts of children between 13-20 years of age are a critical issue in the country. This situation is mainly a result of the war that took place for about 20 years until the prevailing ceasefire began in 2002. This war directly and indirectly effected for the premature school leaving of a considerable number of young children. This has caused a social problem, which may worsen in future, if necessary action is not taken.

The ODW Sri Lanka programme carries out a 5-way approach to address and overcome the problem.
