THE UNDERLYING CAUSES OF SCHOOL DROPOUT PROBLEMS |
| |
| |
Putting youth
in schools alone is not enough to solve the problems of school dropouts
permanently. Therefore, the ODW is looking in to the underlying
causes of the school dropout of individual cases. It measures the
causes and addresses them by taking following action. |
| |
| |
¨ |
Addressing income
needs through micro-credits and income generating activities |
¨ |
Reducing Parents’ illiteracy |
¨ |
Increasing awareness of the
value of education on the part of parents |
¨ |
The role of teachers |
¨ |
Fulfilling the need of education
resources |
| |
| |
This is done through the active participation
of partner organizations where these organizations are involved directly
in the above activities. |
| |
| |
By 2011, ODW programme aims to
provide micro-credit support to 2672 families and to conduct literary
classes to 2980 parents. |
