whole ODW programme was conducted recently and the final report titled
‘Evaluation of Operation Day’s Work (ODW) programme Sri Lanka’ was
handed over to the PSO
recently.

Involvement of the Youths

According the terms of cooperation
of the ODW programme, the youths are to be invited for the PCC meeting
starting from the 2nd year. Youth representatives were invited for
the last meting. As proposed during that meeting, an action programme
for networking among the youths was to be designed. PSO facilitated
the meeting of the youth leaders and a youth workshop held on 23rd
and 24th of June 2005 at Monti Fano, Ampitiya, Kandy. (June 2005)

Post-tsunami
Rehabilitation Support
|
|

|
|
| |
The massive
tsunami which struck several South and South-east Asian countries
on 26th December 2004, killed over 31,000 people and destroyed nearly
100,000 houses along the coastal belt of Sri Lanka. Tsunami impact
was severe in the North and East, where the ODW programme is commencing.
