Kinniya
Vision (KV) is a Muslim organisation in this project. Its base
in Kinniya division of Trincomalee where the population is 95%
Muslims. |
|

| |
History |
|
| |
The
organization was started in 1996. It works mostly with Muslim
communities in Kinniya (population 65 000) some of which are
affected directly by the war. There is 17 staff, 8 of which
is female and it has a youth wing. They provides pre-school,
home base education for women, mental health and micro-credit
support for war-affected women, help provide birth certificates
for war-affected children. |

Role
in the ODW Programme |

school dropouts and leavers living in Kinniya will be
provided with skills and training in order to start
their own income generation activities and gainfully
employed in order to get a better income. |
